My name is Alisa. I am a Peer Support Specialist and Recovery Coach celebrating 5 years sobriety from alcohol. I have been with UBL since its inception, and my passion is walking alongside women seeking healing. I have been involved in leadership at Celebrate Recovery and worked for Achieving Recovery Together (ART) located in Clark County. I am a House Manager at UBL and I enjoy taking the women to CR meetings once a week. I am also working as an Administrative Assistant to help UBL grow and develop relationships in the community. Fundraising is a big part of my duties.
Equine Therapy can help the individual build confidence, self- efficiency, communication, trust, perspective, social skills, impulse control, and learn boundaries. Since the horses have similar behaviors with humans, such as social and responsive behaviors, it is easy for the patients to create a connection with the horse.
